Things I can happily talk about
My interests have a habit of becoming full projects. A game becomes a decorating idea. A question about the universe becomes a very long conversation.
I’m an author and creator. I care about the way people tell their stories, the things we leave unsaid and the difference a few well chosen words can make.
Words have always been more than decoration to me. I like writing with a point of view; I enjoy conversations that go beyond the obvious.
I love getting absorbed in a creative project: painting, making something by hand or turning an idea into part of my home.
I’m particularly drawn to atmosphere. A colour, a texture or one well placed detail can change the feel of an entire space.
Silent Hill and Resident Evil are firm favourites. Give me atmosphere, an interesting story and something unsettling lurking in the background.
The atmosphere and stories stay with me long after I’ve put the controller down.
Consciousness, quantum tunnelling and the scale of the universe: I find big questions fascinating, even when the answers get complicated.
I’m curious rather than claiming to have it all worked out. An afternoon may be enough for lunch; explaining existence could take a little longer.
A dry observation, a bit of sarcasm and the ability to laugh at yourself go a long way with me.
I enjoy the thoughtful little details as much as the grand occasion. How you treat people matters more to me than how impressive your plans sound.
